First off, trying to write a blog post without the computer that has most of my pictures and the screencapture tools that I’m used to is a little difficult. The question you might ask yourself is: Why do you have to do this? Well, the truth is that my wife and I recently accepted new positions in Cedar Rapids, IA – my wife’s home town!

Our new home!
I have been at my new job at GreatAmerica Leasing for the past week or so. My official title is eMarketing Manager. My immediate duties are to help create and implement a social media strategy for the company, along with digging deeper into our email marketing campaigns, i.e. what’s working and what’s not working, and how we can do better. Pretty fun stuff!

My new workplace. Office is second floor from top, on the left side.
Caitlin will be starting her new job at the United Way of East Central Iowa on Monday. She’ll be their new Video Editor / Photographer. She’s really excited about continuing to do work that she excels at, and for an organization that does so much good for the community. And what I’m excited about is that our workplaces are only two blocks apart! Hello lunch hour!

I picked up the keys for our new apartment today after work. I’ll probably be moving some stuff in tomorrow, as both Caitlin and I have brought a couple car loads down to her parents’ house over the past couple of weeks. On Thursday, however, the fun begins! That’s when the movers come to our place in Rochester and load up all the boxes and furniture that Caitlin has been dutifully packing the past two weeks. Thankfully, my parents came up two weeks ago to help with the kitchen and garage, and her mom is coming tomorrow night for final packing. Then on Friday the movers take the stuff to the new apartment, cable guy comes in the afternoon, and then we’re in!
So, once all the craziness settles down, I hope to get back into posting regularly. It’s just been extremely difficult with new job, no home computer, and lots of extra things to take care of!
